Swiss legend Roger Federer beat Andy Murray 6-3, 6-4, 7-6 (13-11) to win the 2010 Australian Open Men's title on Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne, Sydney Sunday.

This is 28-year-old Federer's fourth Australian Open crown and 16th Grand Slam title. Remember that Federer defeated Murray in the 2008 U.S. Open final.

Federer had 46 winners and 42 unforced errors during the match, while Murray hit 29 winners and produced 36 unforced errors.

Federer receives $1.86 million through the win, while Murray gets $927,990.

We are waiting for the official announcement of the next fight of Manny Pacquiao and Mayweather. Unfortunately, the fight will not push through rather Pacquiao will face Clottey at 147 lbs.

Manny Pacquiao’s trainer Freddie Roach clarified that the fight between Pacquiao and Clottey on March 13 will push through and will not have a catchweight. According to Roach, “It will be at 147, but there’s no catchweight.”

Those who are not used to boxing terms will not know what catchweight is. Catchweight is a weight limit for a fight that does not fall in traditional limits for weight divisions.

The Trainer of the Year recipient stated that Pacquiao is comfortable fighting at 147 lbs. Pacquiao, who is the only seven-division world champion, is set to face former International Boxing Federation (IBF) welterweight champion Clottey at the Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Pacquiao will defend the World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight title which he won after beating Puerto Rican Miguel Cotto.

What is Clottey’s response about the fight? Does he also want a drug test for Manny Pacquiao like what Mayweather wants?

BoxingTalk.com asked Clottey if he wants a drug test for Manny Pacquiao, Clottey’s manager Vincent Scolpino said, “Whatever rules apply in the state are what we will abide by.” “Hopefully, everybody will be professional in the situation and we won't have anything to worry about,” he added.

“It's a great opportunity for Josh against the best fighter in the world and he's going to do what he has to do,” noted Scolpino.

He went on to say about Pacquiao: “He's one of the best fighters ever. He throws his hands and that's all you could ask for from a guy. I have a tremendous amount of respect for him.”

Who do you think will win this coming fight?

Pacquiao? or Clottey?

Hideki Matsui has the unusual habit at the plate. He never takes a practice swing once he steps into the batter's box rather he saves it for a real hit.

Hideki Matsui of Philadelphia Phillies drove in six runs in a World Series this Wednesday in what may turn out to be the grandest of exits from the New York Yankees.

Matsui did all sorts of damage Wednesday night, setting a record with six RBIs in a World Series clincher and leading the New York Yankees over the Philadelphia Phillies 7-3.

His performance won Game 6 – and clinched the MVP trophy.

TRIVIA:
He's the first Japanese to be named Most Valuable Player of the World Series, batting .615 (8-for-13) with three home runs and eight runs batted in.

"It's awesome," Matsui said through a translator. "Unbelievable. I'm surprised myself."

Standing on a podium in shallow center field, Matsui waved his new championship hat and shook hands with commissioner Bud Selig. Matsui won three titles in Japan and was eager to celebrate his first in the Bronx.

"I guess it's hard to make a comparison. When I was in Japan, that was the ultimate goal. Being here, winning the World Series, becoming world champions, that's what you strive for here."

"You could say that I guess this is the best moment of my life right now," he said. "It's been a long road and very difficult journey."

Matsui's two-run drive off Pedro Martinez in the second inning put the Yankees ahead for good. Nicknamed "Godzilla" back home, Matsui sent a shot to right field that banged off an advertisement on the facing of the second deck – fittingly, it was a sign for the Japanese company Komatsu, which makes mining and construction equipment.

Matsui added a two-run single in the third and lined a two-run double off the right-center field wall in the fifth. The giant videoboard in center field showed fans holding Japanese signs and while the sellout crowd roared, he stood placidly at second base.

Fans cheered when Matsui's feat, matching Bobby Richardson's 1960 mark for RBIs in any Series game, was posted on the scoreboard. No one, however, had ever delivered such a bounty in the game that wrapped up a championship.

Matsui drew a standing ovation when he came to bat in the seventh, and chants of "MVP! MVP!" bounced around the ballpark.

"He hit everything we threw up there," Phillies manager Charlie Manuel said.

Manu Ginobili smacked a bat on the Halloween game between the Kings and Super. The game is interrupted with the signal of the referee for a moment due to a bat seen flying inside the court. This distracted the players.

One of the referees and a mascot tried to catch the flying bat but they both failed. That’s the reason why player also joined in catching the bat and fortunately Manu Ginobili smacked the bat down.

Unfortunately, the bat was reported to be dead after being smacked by Ginobili.
