Semester Break : Is It Really A Break?

Sunday, October 25, 2009 by: JM

Break is basically a time away from work. After tremendous work, you may sleep or even do the things you love the most. In my part, I love to do things related to computer such as blogging and surfing the net. But is this semester break, really a "break"?

In our school, they have decided to mark our Saturdays as a class day since there are a lot of weekdays where class is suspended due to different reasons. One of the reasons is the threat of A(H1N1) and another is the one week no classes due to typhoon Ondoy. Each day we're loaded with different works. And even at home, we still have to do our tasks such as our homework. In short, each day is really tiring.

The good part is that the school gave us one week vacation starting today up to Nov.2 and classes will resume in Nov. 3. Are they just thinking of us since they know that we're already tired of many school works and we that need rest?

As far as I know, they have a trip/recollection ( i don't know what it is but it's definitely a trip to a place) and it's already paid long time ago so they must go and make us "rest" in our respective houses.

Will we really treasure the word rest in this so called "break" ?  So what are the things that I need to submit after the break?

  • Thesis Part 3. ( This will be submitted on one of the days of our BREAK )
Thesis is not just made in a split second. If you want quality, you need a lot of time and effort.
  • Computer Project
It's up to us if we will do this at home. But think of this, with the limited time after the break if you'll not do it at home, then they will make us hurry up to send our projects since I know that they're going to also submit the grades. So for me, I'll make it on one of these days.

  • Health Project
We'll defend our project according to our own respective topics. So we need to read the things that we have passed especially the clippings since our teacher said that most of the questions will be about the articles.

I know that they're giving us quality education but I think that they are  already jeopardizing our health. We need the real day of rest.

I think this break is not really a break rather it's a school inside our own houses.
